The products in the series are soluble in water and in polar, organic solvents as methanol, alcohol, isopropanol, glycol etc., but are insoluble in mineral oil. They are excellent O/W emulsifier. T-20 is widely used as a solubilizer, wetting agent and dispersant in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries. T-60 is a component of polyacrylonitrile fiber finish oils and as softening agent for fiber production, and as an emulsifier in the coating and plastic industries. T-80 is used as emulsifier, wetting agent and spreading agent etc., and is a particularly effective blowing agent in polyurethane foams.
